Gloomisman
Is there anything to coat base hole pins with to make them easier to remove from the jig head?
cadman
Gloomisman, First of all I wouldn't recommend it, because any oil, wax, or grease, will melt in and possibly around the jig, causing powder or wet paint issues down the road. Unless you are going to degrease them after you are done pouring. Even then I personally wouldn't do that. What jig are you having problems with may I ask??????????? Spin Casting
Gloomisman, We use Teflon pins in our silicone molds. Not sure if it will work in aluminum molds. Wonder if I polish them if they would slide out easier.
cadman
Gloomisman, I have a solution for you to try, as this has worked for me in the past. If you put your weedguards in after painting and baking like I do, then this next step is for you. Take your base hole pins, and cut off about (.031) 1/32 of an inch off of the end that is not mushroomed. What this does, is it will alleviate the pressure of the mushroom head forcing the other end into the hook shaft as it lays in the mold. I noticed that not all base hole pins are exactly the same length, and they all aren
