big trout swimbait

Recommended Posts

i've been trying to get a bait that swims with the tail and think i've got it. this is a wake/shallow diver. a biggie! 9" long, 4 oz. it swims with the head almost stationary and the tail has all the action. going to try to duplicate it in a smaller size next time. i think the multiple segments and the weighting system help the swimming action to look more realistic. will try the same system on a smaller bait to see if it still works as well.

Very nice bait! Is that one made out of PVC? I tried to get a sinking bait to swim with only the tail and I could not make it work with poplar. It worked fine on top, but did not like being completely submerged. I don't think that you should have a problem downsizing though, even to 5 or 6 inches.
