  1. Does anyone make short shank round bend black trebles? I can't find any listed in Barlows, LPO, Netcraft, or Capt. Hooks. Help?
  2. Looking to buy Do-It jig molds for the following. Wacky WCK=5=AWG, Screw lock football FBB-6-LSA
  3. I've read many times about where to buy Do It molds, but my mind is failing and I can't find the information. Can somebody please help?"
  4. I found an electric knife at a local hobby shop. it looks similar to a soldering iron but has an exacto blade on the business end. Once it gets hot it cuts through like a hot knife in butter, almost. Good luck.
  5. While looking at the Abu Garcia website saw replacement knobs offered. Does any know if they would be interchangeable? Cost?
  6. I use candy foil, cut so that just a little over will overlap on the back and belly. I use plain old waterproof stick glue un the foil and the body prior to applying the foil to the bait. I then use a burnishing tool to smooth out and wrinkles etc. The foil is very thin and smooths well. I then use a piece of knurled steel, I.E. maybe the end of a ratchet, to make the scale pattern. All this prior to the glue drying all the way. I then cover with D2T prior to painting. JMHO. Good luck.
  7. I can tell you what I use. I bought a Pasche airbrush from Hobby Lobby with a 40% off coupon, teamed up with a small 1 gallon air compresser. You need a decent regulator that can be adjusted easily, along with a filter to keep water out of the brush. I would suggest lightly sanding the existing paint job and start with a bonding primer paint. As for finish coats I have been using Devcon Two Ton for many years with excellent results. Before you buy a bunch of bodies you might try floatability. I have had issues in the past. I'm sure others will pipe in, probably enough that you will get confused. Good luck.
  8. Dave, You've got way too much time on your hands LOL. Thanks for the information. I have always been impressed with your comments etc. I can almost tell just by the content that you have written it. Keep up the excellent work. Gone fishin'
  9. Solved the concern. I had some Daiwa handles hiding in the man cave and cut the knobs off. After much measuring, and a lot of trial and error, the paddle knobs are gone and the reels now feel comfortable. They don't look too bad either. Only took 4 different drill bits, and a drill press. Best part is that it only took about 3 hours and didn't cost anything. Thanks for the responses. Hope this helps somebody else. Gone fishin'
  10. Thanks for the info, Glenn. Will check it out and keep you all posted. Lew's offered to sell me round grips for $22.00 ?? each, some ridiculous cost.
  11. Just purchased 2 new Lew's Laser Pro Speed Spool model Lp1SH reels. They have the Lew's paddle style grips on a bowed aluminum handle. My question: Anybody know where I can get replacement grips or bowed handle with round rubber grips, or Daiwa style squared off grips. I used to have Gator Grip handles for all my reels but haven't found a bowed handle. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give me. Don't really like the paddle grips.
  12. Thanks for all the assistance. Finally went to the Cincinnati Bass Pro Shop and looked at the paperwork from a new Quantum. It said the same thing you all did. Slide the bayonet release over and rotate the side plate. Worked fine last long time, I hope. Only thing nobody mentioned was to be careful about loading the spring up without having the side plate back on. Thank goodness for no carpet in my shop. The floor is now clean too. Found both the bayonet and the spring and it only took an hour or so.
