  1. Some time back I found a blank that very closely resembled a Rapala Fat Rap FR-7 body. I can't seem to find it now. Anyone know of a manufacturer that makes something similar?
  2. That's a beautiful pour!
  3. I'm thinking about an obsolete Rapala Fat Rap. I'm pretty sure it was solid balsa. Therefore, the center would be a non-issue. I think.....? I just found this cutaway of the lure. It is solid balsa.
  4. Can you take a lure and "read" it to copy for printing?
  5. I've been using Shimano Curados a lot of years and swapped out the bearings with Boca's, I did this with the "i" series and found out that particular model really didn't need an upgrade. The factory ones work just fine. My $.02.
  6. I don't know Mark. The "eye" doesn't look right.
  7. http://www.fishingcompleteinc.com/brown-10-o-wacky-o-rings/ $00.02 per each is tough to beat!
  8. I built one for this (and other) applications. This sweetheart is a MudHole HM-P844-MHX 7' MH XF blank. Perfect for your said technique!!!!!
  9. Every coat of epoxy I've ever applied has dried a minimum of twelve hours before I even thought about touching the rod.
  10. Thanks! I like the style that you described. Rat rods.....
  11. Like these? http://s159.photobucket.com/user/NewRiverRatRods/library/CUSTOM%20RODS?sort=3&page+1
  12. From my experience; I have built rods with NO specialty tools what-so-ever. They turned out OK, but not as "sleek" as I would have liked. I did the 15 minute rotation for the epoxy cure, but the rod dryer is so much easier with nicer results. As for a thread tensioner, I simply use a book with the thread going through a few pages next to the book spine. If you are budgeting, I suggest the rod dryer above the rest.
  13. I was having weird issuse a while back seeing the forum. Here is the link to the thread that rectified everything for me. Maybe it is some FireFox add on giving the trouble? http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/topic/28295-ie-vs-firefox/
  14. All I can see is too many moving parts, and a large increase in weight, that equals a large loss of sensitivity.
