  1. Mark.....yes, it's hand poured...that's all I do, except my hollow SB's....... Jim - Same here, HIGH pressured lakes....I'm in Indiana, so we don't have much water, but a ton of fisherman! Thanks for the props on the red shad! Fish are eating it up this summer in our lakes. Can't make enough of 'em! I haven't done okee craw yet in my big worm, but I haven't had a store or customer request it yet either. I do it in some other baits I pour though. I'll have to pour some in that worm and see how it looks. Ed
  2. Just posted a picture in the gallery of my Red Shad.....

  4. Jim- I read your topic and have been pouring worms, senko's, etc for quite a while like you are talking. I had a couple pots made that have a steel plate basically, welded down the middle. I wanted to make red shad, and this was a way I thought would work best for hand pouring. When pouring, the colors go into the mold side-by-side (they start off separate, but by the time they hit the mold they've come together), but also 'blend' / 'swirl' or 'mix', whatever you want to call it. They come out great, and I can't make enough of these worms I make. I've done several other colors, such as bama bug, a green shad, blue shad, black shad (black & pearl white) just to name a few, possibilities are endless. Anyway, I think it's a little different than the 'big boys' laminates, and I can attest they catch the hell out of fish! Plus, custom hand pours that are different than anything else out there, catches fisherman as well as fish............just my 2 cents on your topic. Ed
  5. Yes. I use it. You can get it through Lurecraft, but it's a special order, if they can still get it. they never sold much of it, that's why they stopped carrying it in their catalog. I'd call and talk to Shawn or Kim and see if they can still order it for you. It's not cheap either. I think you have to order a gallon at a time......$100-$150 or more, if I remember right.
  6. Not at all........been using it for several years now..........Ed
  7. Jim, yeah, I've considered making my own, as I'm a DIY'er. And, I remember seeing some threads on here about making your own. I will probably research the threads and see if I want and have the time to mess with it myself. Thanks for your input. Ed
  8. Was wondering if anybody knew what scent Snoozers uses on their tubes? It has a little different smell to them. I have an idea of what it MIGHT be, but could be a combination of a couple different scents. I don't know if they use it their plastic or just add it to their bags, but you can smell it pretty good when you open a bag of their tubes. I have a store/customer that likes it, and wants me to see if I can track it down for him. Any body know?
  9. Just to throw my 2 cents in........I buy a bag of iodized salt from Gordon's Food Service. 25 lb bag for around $8 bucks. I place baits in a big bag with scent, shake, throw some salt in, shake, then bag them up. Just makes it easier to bag, as others have said. Guys around my parts seem to like the salt ON the baits (as well is in them of course). This is table salt size, I would say. For salt in my baits, I use popcorn and nut salt. It is very fine and holds/suspends well in the baits. Found a local wholesaler that sells popcorn machines, accessories, etc. I get (12) 24 oz cans for a little over $22. it lasts quite a while. You can even get flavored salt, like butter, but haven't tried it yet.....don't know if guys would use my baits ro try eating them!! haha!
  10. Thanks, guys, for all your replies. Sorry it's been a while in responding, but been slammed making baits! Looks like it would be a wise investment since I've been pouring a lot more lately...........
  11. Is anyone using Bear's Presto melting pot? I saw it on his website and was considering buying one. Does it work well? How long does it take for the plastic to heat up in it? Does it mix up the plastic well during and after melting? Any opinions from those of you using one is appreciated......
  12. Yeah, I've had the same problem with the .015 gold flake. Extended period of heating has caused it to turn silver. I know they are having a problem with their purple flake as well........
  13. Thanks for the reply's. I don't have a bag to look at, but I did look at a "Renegade" bag at Walmart, and they are/were made by Luck "E" Strike. So, maybe I'll contact them and see???? Thanks......
  14. Does anyone know who made the FLW baits that were sold at Wal-mart stores? They made a 12" worm, I measured it and it's really 11", but anyway, was wondering if anybody knows if there are any floating around out there, or more importantly, who actually manufactured them? I heard that Mann's Bait Company made them, but don't know that as fact. I tried contacting them, but haven't heard back yet. I also heard Renegade (???) made these baits. Thought I'd check here to see if anyone had any insight...............Thanks.
  15. Finally got around to running some baits in this color. I use LC colorants and flake. I did 15 drops yellow and 4 drops yellow fluorescent in a 1/4 pot of plastic (the samll metal pots you can get from LC); then added the black flake. The baits came out as almost an exact match. I'm sure you can fiddle around with the coloring to lighten/brighten the yellow for your preferences.......
