    Gulp cranks

I have some gulp crankbaits that I’m about to repair and repaint. As I was checking them out I noticed something that I haven’t noticed before. I have 3 that are more flat in the mid section than the other gulps I own and have owned. So my question is did Mr Harter change the bait a bit? These aren’t replicas made by someone, I don’t believe. Cause if they are someone copied his design to a “t” and used his painting style as well. They all have the same type wire for the through wire harness. Here’s some pics and if anyone knows I would like to hear your input.
  3. I think there is a flat finish mcu. I'll try to find what it is. I was thinking about buying some at one time. Try to search it on here as well and see if u can find how others done it.
  4. Im assuming they have 2 mixers going. One for sanding and one for sealing!?? If they done both in one mixer at the same time wouldn't the blank be grainy?
  5. Did anyone read the statement made about the concrete mixer and sealing the blanks in there as well. Wonder how hard it is to clean that out once cycle is finished?
  6. Thats what I did. I've built 2 so far and will soon be starting a 3rd one. They work great.
  7. Didn't pizz do a double trout paint job on a swimbait he built a while back!
  8. Try hi-lite interference blue by createx. I believe thats what your lookin for. Try hi-lite interference blue by createx. I believe thats what your lookin for. Try hi-lite interference blue by createx. I believe thats what your lookin for.

    Drill Press

Go and check some yard sales! I bought a craftsman drill press for 20 bucks. Its a little older but it works and operates as it supposed to. Might save you some cash???
  10. Sorry cadman I jumped topics mid stream. The new D2T packaging states that you can mix chalk with it. Yeah I was thinking about skipping a step. If you mixed a white chalk into it then used it as a seal coat you may not have to paint the white base coat. It all depends on how well it seals and covers with a chalk mixed in with the epoxy.
  11. Cadman, believe you are referring to the Flex Coat High build. Thats what Big M uses and Im sure some others. I was reading the new packaging and it had on there that you can mix chalk into it. Wandering if anyone has tried this, especially for a seal coat with white chalk? Could this eliminate one step in the paint process provided your seal coat is slick? I also wander how the chalk would make the epoxy spread? Now to find some white chalk!

    Eyes

Gentlemen, I need help locating some eyes for crankbaits. A friend of mine wants me to repaint a couple of baits. Which is fine and well but the problem lies with the eye color hes wanting. He want a methiolate/flo. orange. I checked a few places with no luck. The closest I found was @ Janns and the ones they have are listed as flo red. The problem with theres is they are 3/8" and not 3D. Any help would be appreciated.
  14. SWAG method . Good one Ben and nice tip.
