  1. Yeah I saw a few good posts with table saws and with the miter frences set like you said. I am just trying to make sure the cut is even and yes the baits are already shapped while doing this. just playing around with some baits from lurepartsonline at the moment. anything set for a even cut is what i am looking for and obviusly saftey. i kinda like my 10 fingers..
  2. Hey guys so I got everything down pat adding weight and sealing and painting and everything but prob the most crucial part is adding the lip/bill slot i have seen a couple different ways to do so on youtube but nothing really concreat ideas. I have looked trough the search option with not finding much maybe i am missing a tutorial or just a thread in general or a video to help point me in the right direction on technique to keep it consistant?
  3. I think it is mostly a preference thing as well.. on your list i have only used the devcon. however i have used other epoxies such as envirotex and an off brand and i would take Mark's advice mix a couple of them up and test them on either some wood or some old baits see what u like most.. Devcon is definatly one of the more pricy ones out there but if ur doing it just for u then not a big deal.. cheers and good luck! let us know what comes of it!
  4. Since moving all i use is createx now.. works great HOWEVER i do dip my baits with gst several coats
  5. sounds like iwill just stick to painting for now.. may if it gets slower we can pick this up =) thanks guys !
  6. The wooden lures over at lurepartsonline. how much extra work needs to be done for those? don't mind doing it.. but not sure much about that aspect of it. It is just setting the obvius screw eyes? do do some of these need to be weighted like a swim bait? this is besides the obvius painting and what not. I know i am probably opening a huge can of worms on this post lol but just lookin' around and wanting to try these out!
  7. hey buddy not sure if this will help my first small bottle of clear gloss i got for createx was very thick as well.. I since went to my local airbrush store and probably 8 or of 10 are MUCH thinner then my first bottle not sure if it's just a malfunction or they thicken with time but I got the large 32oz bottla and it is MUCH thinner and works great with GST.
  8. I didnt' read all the posts but got trough most of them and didn't see this posted. I had the same problem and got it solved doing 2 things... like stated in several posts.. thick base coats are usually the culprit for this... if u know u have a thick base coat wait overnight to dry and clear the next day... and the second one really helped me i think. Createx has a clear gloss coat.. Apply that before u do your actual clear and let dry like normal.. IT HAS BEEN A LIFE SAVER when using createx! hope this helps!
  9. yeah not sure if it is the plastic itself or not.. just looking for in general resolution...
  10. I have heard maybe a mixture of peroxide and oxyclean? i could see that maybe working and will give it a try.. any one got any idea?
  11. Hey guys.. Does any one know or has anyone tried... when taking an old bait. and trying to restore or clean it up a bit how to remove the yellowing from the bill of a bait. I know some of this is from stained water or yellowing in the sun.. any one know of a removal process without destroying the bill? thanks in advance.
  12. yep i bought the lee pot for plastics.. it arrives toda and i will let you guys know the performance of it=) i can't wait..
