I was thinking some kind of light beam covering my whole deck, or a motion detector, when someone stepped into the boat. I'm curious what other have installed on their boats to protect against theft and breaking in.
The problem with tha motion detector or a car alarm on a boat is. If a wave its it a the boat goes up a little and breaks the beam for the motion detector it will set it off. If you use a car alarm type the wind or wave will shake the boat a little and the sensor will pick it up as a break in and set the alarm off. The best bet for boats is to lock them up in the garage or a storage lot. Unless the make a alarm for boats with a pager type alert system. Other wise you may have a lot of false alarms your chasing.
