Brass vs. Steel

I've been pricing out all my components, and have ran across steel willow leaf blades that are quite a bit cheaper. I know they are heavier than brass. Is there any other disadvantage of steel rather than going with brass? I understand the weight differences, and affect it will have on the lures, but durability wise is my concern. Rust, tarnish, ect.
