I like green pumpkin with chartreuse tail. I fished it carolina rig with a 3/4 ounce weight. I got slammed. It's not uncommon for me to use a 1 oz weight on these, either.
I prefer larger 10" and 14" worms on a carolina rig for night fishing, but not sure I have the confidence to throw them during the day. Carolina Rig is the only way I like to fish them with about a 3 foot leader and a 5/0 hook.
When I work the bait, I just give the rod big lifts so the bait raises way off the ground.
