Many of us builders take measurements on rod blanks as we build them. In a nut shell the blank is fixed horizontally and then weight is hung from the tip until the rod deflects a specified length. The weight required to deflect, the angle of deflection, the weight of the blank, etc are recorded.

You could have the old rod measured up and get "the numbers" on it. The trick then becomes finding a current blank with similar numbers.
