I did mine on white waterslide with an inkjet and the ink got all crackly-looking.. i redid them on a laser-jet and they turned out a lot better.

I did mine on an HP Photosmart 7700 inkjet using white waterslide paper. Used the photo quality, then sprayed 2 light coats of clear enamel on it. This keeps the ink from running or anything.. forgot where I learned that, but it works well.
I did a clear one with black ink which I layed down over a white butt wrap on an older rod just to see how it looked... came out good, but I didn't epoxy it. Not sure if I'm going to keep it on there.
