Re: Help! Loose reel seat

I have repaired a few rods with similar issues. If you are not concerned with the foregrip, you could remove it with a utlity knife and pliers carefully. This would allow you to move the reel seat forward or towards the tip of the rod, thus allowing you to apply rod bond or another epoxy to the now exposed portion of the rod blank where the reel seat is supposed to be. This has worked well for me in the past. Not only do you get a fully epoxied seat, but you loose weight on the rod, and gain sensitivity by being able to touch the blank ahead of the reel seat while palming your reel. Just a thought...
