CA has got to be out with all the problems there.

Phoenix has some nice lakes within a couple hours.

Havasu and Powell are cool lakes. Depending where you come from, they might be hard to get to.

Vegas is usually the cheapest place to fly in and out of and get hotels. Mead is just 1-2 hours away. The weather cools off in Oct/Nov and the fishing really picks up.

I think Vegas is the best choice....sometime in late October/early November. Also with Vegas, people from AZ, Las Vegas and So Cal would likely tow their boats so you can pull boats from more geography.
