Hey Kribman-When pike season opens, early May to mid May, (depending on lake location) I like to throw big jerbaits slowly in typical bait fish color (black top/silver sides, or mostly white) and bigger spinnerbaits (white and white/chartruese with plastic trailer) from 1/2 oz to 1 oz. As the Summer and water heat up, I retrieve faster and deeper. In the spring I slow down and fish in 2 - 10 fow. Find the greenest vegitation with new buds on top, letting the jerkbait just sit there suspended for 30-60 seconds if the Pike are finicky. When the "dog days of Summer" roll around try trolling deep weed lines 10 - 25 fow depending on time of day/feeding activity. As usual, the bigger the bait the bigger the fish. I've never been to chimo outpost Lodge, hopefully there will be some nice Smallie fishing, you will likely get those as well and you can add top water (popR's) Senko's (green's/brown's/black's) and Tubes (same as senko colors) to your game plan for them.
