I served this country for 20 years to defend the rights of every citizen; take away my right to bear arms and the Supreme Court will have created a criminal... not all firearms are registered.
When I think of the weapons I received as gifts and others that I inherited, there is no way those would show up on any list. Thompson Model 1921 were legally sold in the US through the 1920's and if you can afford the price of the background investigation, you can own one too.

I think it's beyond that fear. They are suggesting they will determine if we the people have the right to keep and bear arms as normal citizens, according the 2nd amendment. If they declare we no longer have that right, that will probably make 20 million criminals, literally overnight.
If the court votes no, then it opens the flood gate of people who will likely charge forward to disarm everyone asap (Obama, Clinton). We know theres an elite of far left folks in politics who would LOVE to see the USA completely disarmed. This court decision would be the legal fuel they need to carry it out city by city, state by state.
My only thoughts at this point bring me back to the "unorganized militias" of the 90's who don't look so nuts now. They apparently had enough foresight to see the great Clinton far left scheme of a disarmed people left totally defenseless against an oppressive governing body who would likely run a realistic socialist/communist state if allowed. The bottom line would have been civil war. You may have noticed Bill Clinton really toned it down in his second term after half the states declared having unorganized militias forming virtually overnight. the last time we saw that kind of scenario was in 1859, the rest is history.
Unlike the last "civil war" this would likely be a real civil war where control for the central government would be fought.
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about
20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of
13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------
China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were ro unded up and exterminated
------------------------------
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
----- -------------------------
Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. ------------------------------
Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-----------------------------
Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in: List of 7 items: Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent Australia-wide, armed robberi es are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)! In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns! While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed. There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDER LY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it. You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens. Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late! The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson. With guns, we are 'citizens'. Without them, we are 'subjects'. During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans w ere ARMED!
"This year will go down in history! For the first time a civilized nation has full gun registration! Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future!"
Adolf Hitler, 1935
"Ordinary citizens don't need guns, as their having guns doesn't serve the state."
Heinrich Himmler, 1935
"I don't care about crime, I just want to get the guns."
Senator Howard Metzenbaum, 1994
I wish people would just obey the laws already on the books...then we wouldn't be having this discussion, we could just get on with our utopian lives. That not being the case however, my wife and I will continue to own guns; for the sport, for the fresh game on the table, and for the right to protect ourselves in a worse case scenario.

Lawyers for the plaintiffs in the case, District of Columbia vs. Heller, argued the gun ban violates the second amendment, which states: "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."
Heller told reporters he was confident in his case."It is a basic issue of constitutional rights when the right to self-defense has been violated," he said. "As a security officer I carry a gun to protect government officers, but my life isn't worth protecting at home in their eyes."
Sen. John F. Kennedy's statement, Know Your Lawmakers, Guns, April 1960, p. 4 (1960): "By calling attention to 'a well regulated militia,' the 'security' of the nation, and the right of each citizen 'to keep and bear arms,' our founding fathers recognized the essentially civilian nature of our economy. Although it is extremely unlikely that the fears of governmental tyranny which gave rise to the Second Amendment will ever be a major danger to our nation, the Amendment still remains an important declaration of our basic civilian-military relationships, in which every citizen must be ready to participate in the defense of his country. For that reason I believe the Second Amendment will always be important."
