Question for Redg8r

I ask a site usage question on this forum ,I think it was yesterday. It was about going back to main list of threads after you post or read several pages instead of having to click back through every page you just read.I think you may have moved it.If so,how do you find posts that have been moved .I know I ask it again on Hardbaits ,sorry if I dont ask it here i'll never get my answer because I hardly ever remember to go to the other forums for my answers after I post there....Thanks Robert

You should never have to click back thru every page. Theres a button in the top navbar marked "Forum" then from there you can choose any respective category from there (eg; soft plastics, hardbaits etc.)

I didnt move it, I checked the moderator logs & couldnt find any similar action. You might have posted it while we were upgrading the site yesterday.

Thats ok, it's a good question. When I personally move a topic, I'll append an expiring notice that remains where the post originally was (it expires after a day or so) Clicking on that notice will take you to the new location.

I understand what you're implying & it's a common issue. We have members join for example, only to make soft plastic baits, and if they have a question about the site or another off topic question, they post it in the soft plastics forum because they thing it's "their" forum, when actually we should use the "whole" site & that topic (your topic, for example) would be best suited in the "docks" or "site announcement" forums.

If you look at the forum layout, each forum is grouped by a "category" the "custom tackle" category, which contains the hardbaits, soft plastics, spinnerbaits, etc; are intended to be technical forums for those topics only.

Photographs should go in the gallery, banter should go in the "docks" & so on.

I appreciate the question & hopefully it helps others too. as always, if any of you have comments, concerns, or criticism, fell free to let us know. You ultimately direct the site.

FYI, I'll move this topic to the docks, but check the hardbaits forum:
Hard Baits - Tackleunderground
to see what I was talking about regarding the notice that this topic was moved.

Thank you,
Jerry
