Hey Pete

Apologies are not required. This is a forum and diversity is welcome, I am glad at least it shows folk are reading these threads. It is quite interesting the different attitudes to carp, here in the UK they are a much sought after and prized fish although I have to say they have never lit MY bonfire

Re: Are we different in the UK

Sorry about getting off of the subject ..
KBC We do not have them jumping into boats & what have you.
A new thread has been started on this subject.
See Ya there.
My Apolgies Guys .... By the way there were 3 years that I did not fish any from age 10 and that was the 3 years in England ... was a real pain to get the necessary permits & etc.
I enjoyed watching Trout off of the bridge in the Village of Fairford ... We had plenty of streams around us with excellent Trout fishing but never made it .. course I was young and single and had other things that seemed to take a lot of time. Where I was stationed (Fairford RAF Station Gloustershire) was really pretty country side ....

Re: Are we different in the UK

Those Asian carp are closing in on Lake Michigan via a man made channel going through Chicago. There is a temporary electrical barrier in place with a permanent barrier under construction. The water clarity caused by this carp allows sun light to penetrate deeper, causing an unwanted bacteria to contaminate the drinking water that supplies Chicago and other lake side cities. I have viewed video footage of folks trying to net the jumping carp. Other guys go bow fishing for the carp; they claim it reduces their numbers and maintains the skills of the archer on a moving target.

I don't think they make enough arrows from the way it sounds. Maybe a good hand gernade wouldd knock a few out.
