"daveh" my wife & I enjoyed that - Thanks! Coupla weeks ago trout fishing in CO had a brush crashing ground thumping pair jump into the water 30 feet upstream - those big critters aren't particularly afraid of humans, are they? Especially in "Moose Safe" zones.
When I was in CO at Eastes Park also doing some trout fishing (red hooks work great their). They were on the golf course grazing on the greens. Their was six or seven of them and it was one in the afternoon. Some of the golfers were trying to play though but they wouldn't budge. The golfers were smart and stayed away but some dunb kids hoped the fence and about got a moose kicking when they got to close. I was safe up the hill in my car watching and wishing I had my video camra with me.
Estes Park is covered this them. Me and my body amost totaled my SUV going through there there are some crazy moose and antelopes arround there. Heck I even seen them lay down in the street.
It probaly don't help when people feed them. I don't think they can be hunted in that area also. I about smacked some deer driving down to loveland to get hooks at wally world at one in the morning. That valley is jet black at night and their was a full moon out.

Wow! Thats was a once in a life time moment. Everything was in place on that day. The wind was hammering against them. Moose can't really depict the difference of objects that well in a woods kind of setting. The hunters are obviously well trained because that takes some serious patience and nerve to have anything come that close to you in the wild. Hell I hear loud crashing in the woods when I'm in my tree stand and my heart pumps out of my chest. The camera man wasn't even shaking which is impressive also. Maybe they both had sidearms on. I'm glad to see they didn't take a cow with a youngster. I guess they were hunting a large bull. I would go home and definitely suck some beers after a moment like that.
