I like the grinner. That reverse clinch is different. I've never seen it before.

Re: Knots for braided lines

Once you guys use that reverse clinch knot a few times youll be hooked. It has never slipped on me, ill either break the hook or the line before that knot will slip

Wold that mean that it has 100% break strength? My go-to knot is the Palomar.

Re: Knots for braided lines

I think I like yours best Phil, mainly because it's English and we still have trust in the "Mother Country" here!!!. I got to be 8 times bass master, all time 10th Jindabyne trout pro and all time loser with what I call the "Will Knot", don't know its real name but it all ways slips on braid, so I use super glue too. Thanks everyone.Pete

Pete

Ditch the super glue and 'Will' and go with the grinner, it never slips and it never cuts itself to bits. It can also be used for joining lines together knot to knot but would only use that for my fly fishing.

A double san diego jam (doubled line through hook eye like a palomar) properly tied is a 100% knot. Don't think the standard jam is though.

Re: Knots for braided lines

My favorite for braid is what I call the Fish-N-Fool Knot one I developed myself. Its a modified uni knot. It works great for braid, floro if you wet it good and are careful cinching it down, and excellent for mono too. It tested 100% knot strengh on a pull tester with all 3 types of lines. Here is a diagram of it.

Re: Knots for braided lines

For the knots I do down here, it's to attach the braid to a fluorocarbon leader. Uni-to-uni connection. About four twists on the leader, about six on the braid. It holds just fine.
