A week has gone by and the action is still hot! Almost every evening for the last week we've fished the same river. The fish aren't as large as a week ago, but we are still catch and releasing about 10 to 12 big fish in the last hour of fishing (many show a hook mark from the previous days of catch and release). Tonight we came off the water at 10:00 pm. Here is one I caught on a homemade 'banana/snootie' jig, dressed with a white skirt. This has been the very unlikely "hot lure" of the season. The only thing we use jigs for here is ice fishing..NOT!
Here we go again! Everyone has been waiting, and now the new Bull Trout season is here again. I caught and released 6 good Bull Trout 2-9lbs. yesterday. All were caught on the swimbait I've been working on, and the new 4" Momba Grub!
Several of the takes were clearly visible, as large trout bulged the surface to grab the swimbait running just under the surface.
