Been using Yo-Zuri Hybrid (mostly smoke color) for Bluewater, Inshore, and Estuary fishing and have been very impressed.
Was told at the Fred Hall show, from a Rep, that smoke isn't a popular West Coast color. Thought that was odd because that's what I like to use..
After 34 years of fishing in many areas and under many conditions in my experience high abrasion resistance, sensivity, low visibility and minimal stretch are good characteristics in most situations. Until recently one property of a line could be had at the expense of others. Abrasion resistant line tended to have too much memory and seemd "ropey". Limp lines with little memory were always quite stretchy and had a "dull" feeling with little sensivity. Braided lines for all their strength tended to enhanced air knotting and tip wrap additionally they seem more visible under water (not to mention they float). Just as PowerPro eliminated most problems associated with many popular braided lines, Yozuri Cobra is the new Holy Grail of monofilament style lines. Abrasion resistance and knot strenght seem better than any other mono I have tried, although P-line cxx is close. It is very limp with less memory than all but a few monos such as P-line cx, McCoy Mean Green (a superb line in it's own right). It has very minimal stretch similar or better than my beloved and departed Tectan. This hybred line also sinks almost like traditional florocarbon with out the memory and stiffness normally associated with that material. The only criticism I have of this superb incarnation is that the visibility in gin clear water is slightly on the high side and the diameter is average for the rated strength (although some testers have noted this line "over tests" by 25-40%!). For those challenging situations that require super stealth I am using P-line floroclear, but for 75% of my fishing Yozuri x-tex cobra can't be beat. Sorry to all those Ironsilk fans but I found it to have memory to spare handled like first generation Stren to me.
