i have fished several tournaments there.but have a hard time catching keeper bass there anyone know where to go and what to use have a tournament there feb.28 2007.any help at all would be great thx
lake norman is getting alot easier than it use to be.there is alot of spootted bass there now.i wuold start at the area around the hot hole at the nuke plant and go south to blythe landing.fish points first with 1\4 rattle trap.(chrome side -black back).drop shot or small c-rig. the water temp will be 10-15 deg warmer in that area.also dont forget to use flukes!
I am cracking up... I just sent you a private message about Norman Before I read Benny's post.. Then I went back and read his post and he said about the same thing I said... WOW...Sorry for the same info.. But I did say something about the hot hole and the KEY IS FLUKES!!! But I wouldnt waste my time at it during a tournament... Unless you havent caught a dam thing and you dont want to come in with no fish at all..... But you will not win it fishing the Hot hole... You will catch fish their but 2 pounders are RARE at hot hole... And 2 pd fish will win the thing...Lake Norma fish are smaller than most in the south because of that same power planet. Bait fish problem... Water lacks nutritions needed for big fish to get big.. I have read alot of stuff on the net about Norman...But I love the lake.. Its my 2nd home.
West side of the lake in the coves. Fish the deeper docks by bouncing crank baits off the piles. I moved from Charlotte in '02 and miss her every day. Back than it was called the dead sea...
we came in 5th with 4.39 lbs 1st place had 9.75lbs big fish was 5lbs we caught 7 fish only 3 keepers though.i caught them on a fluke my partner caught on finesse worm.had a good time wish had done better.hard to find big fish on norman.
