Northeast Kickers

Are there any members out there who are familiar fishing in the Northeast? I've been fishing in this area all my life but I can't seem to locate the bigger fish. I've caught plenty of 3-4lb bass but I can't seem to find big ones. I typically use Zoom Trick Worms and various topwater plugs/rapala's. The ponds/lakes I fish typically have a lot of vegetation which is why I don't use crankbaits, spinner or buzzbaits........

Don't get me wrong I live to fish regardless of what I catch but a monster once in a while would sweet!

Re: Northeast Kickers

Do you ever make it to champlain at all? I was born and raised on the CT river, have lived and fished in Vermont my whole life. It is getting to be big fish time. Try going to your local lakes and find the north end of the lake these tend to warm fist and the big girls will be staging and getting ready to spawn. I use a strike king rattletrap gold with black back and put plenty of six and sevens in the boat. You need to find there spawing areas in your local waters and if you hit it right for a few days this is the best time of the year to boat a monster. Also try hula grubs on a jig head or a big tube. If you fish the CT river at all look for any rivers that dump into it. Great chance to boat a 5+ smallie. Try 4" slugo on a 1/4oz jig head or tubes work well. Suspending jerk bait. Husky jerk the bigger the better at this time of year again in a gold color works well. Hope this helps remember to rip their lips off!
