Snooterfish:

Be careful, there is a big difference between craft hair and craft fur. Craft Hair is what you want. Craft fur is crap. Many times catalogs refer to it as craft fur and you think it is the same........IT IS NOT!!!!!!

Re: Bass Jigs

Yea, that is a old habit that is hard for me to break. I HATE CRAFT FUR...It is like trying to tie something from a cotton ball with the knots left in.

Re: Bass Jigs

Good thread.

I tie a rabbit hair jig for a f-n-f guy who says it kicks on Dale Hollow. I only wish I could try it myself.

I'm not a fan of craft fur, but it's probably because I got the stuff streamstalker was talking about. Guess I'm old fashion and like rabbit fur the best of them all.

Go to Tinypic.com. Great site for downloading pictures to be put on websites.

They look pretty good to me. I know those jigs would fool smallies in my neck of the woods. Question for you: How are you doing the eyes on your jigheads? Thanks.

Re: Bass Jigs

No, I meant the painted eye on the side of the jighead?

Re: Bass Jigs

First effort? very good. Put one or two back to compare with what you will be tying a year from now. You will be amazed at how much your skills will change.
To keep the paint out of the hook eye, grip the hook eye with forceps which will keep most of the paint out of the eye. this also works with powder paint.
