Craft Hair

A few weeks ago found a web site with a company that sells hand tied jigs and flys. Used my head and started to tie my own.Had to go back and relearn some things but on the right track.I'm mixing feathers and craft hair for the right profile and colors.{ Floating flys} for spots. I need to find a place where I can buy diffrent colors of craft hair for less than the HIGH end fly shops here in Atlanta. Can anybody help?

Re: Craft Hair

You can buy the good stuff from Punisher Lures and here's a great article about using craft hair on jigs.

We buy all of our craft hair from punisher as well. IMO, best craft hair I have ever been able to find.

Re: Craft Hair

Im finding out not all craft hair is alike, For my needs the quality needs to be high with the fibers need to be long. A polar fiber works except when tieing bass jigs the length of fibers is critical. Thanks ps Did a word search and nothing yet!

Re: Craft Hair

boy, you are right that not all material labeled "craft hair" is the real deal. Watch out for Craft Furl, which is not exactly the same as craft hair.

Re: Craft Hair

Orvis, and Fish Hawk here in Atl. Have it it must say select craft hair or fibers are not long enough for my application. But only Land Rovers and Benz's are allowed in parking lots there!I have paided for that sm. pac 4.00-6.00 for one ouch! The fibers really do well in holding sents and love the combinations of colors I can think of depending on the color of the forage.
