Help!!! I'm finally turning to the Underground for Help. I'm trying to find Brown bear hair. Hair thats brown not black. I have ordered brown bear hair from 3 places including Bass Pro and Barlows and every peice I get is BLACK! I want BROWN. I have checked every where on the web and called other stores and can't seem to be able to find just what I'm looking for. So please guide me to the light if its possible.

Check your yellow pages for a local fly shop - give them a buzz. Fly clubs usually have fly tyers that could probably help you out as well.

Well I can give you three tries. Look in your local phone book for taxidermy shops and call them and explain what your looking for you'd be surprised at what they have for trim pieces.

Second try Moscow Hide and fur http://www.hideandfur.com/ if you don't find what you're looking for on the site call them and tell them what you're looking for.

Third you can try Coffin Creek Furs http://www.flytyingfurs.com/ I don't see it on the site but you can call and ask.

Other than that check out some of the bulletin boards and ask on them if anyone has some.

Thanks Guys! I'll check this stuff out and see what happens. Can you die the hair with rits or a hair die to a brown? Then I could just do that with some of the black hair I have.

Not a problem, I try to help when I can. Like I said Moscow Hide and fur is excellent. You really have to keep an eye on the miscellaneous section cause it changes so much.
