Tying Tools & Material Suppliers

was wonder where you guys, that do your own tying, get your tools and supplies from. I know NetCraft and Barlows sells tying tools & materials. Are there other sources for the "budget" minded tying that maybe worth checking out also?

thx's

Mike

Re: Tying Tools & Material Suppliers

It depends on how fast you want/need it. As a rule, Stamina has pretty good prices and normally have what I want; however, I put my order together using their online ordering and print it out. I only conduct my business with on line and a confirmation of the status as I order - I hate surprises and delays.

I am lucky in that I live within 30 miles of both a Cabela's and Bass Pro Shop, so if I can find it on line, I will call ahead to see that it is actually in stock - did I mention I hate surprises and delays.

Anytime I am getting ready to place an order, I check the web at my regular places and launch searches on specific items to find new sources and the best prices. I don't see that changing.

I tie many orders of 50+ dozen jigs. I order most of my supplies from
Hareline. Their email is hareline@hareline.com phone#1-800-448-9966.
Happy tying. dj

Re: Tying Tools & Material Suppliers

Your lucky, the nearest Cabela's is about 4hrs away and the neasest BPS is about 3.5hrs away. And with gas prices going up, I do 99% of my shopping online. I may have to pay a little more for the shipping, but it's just getting too expensive to drive any long distance any more

And unfortunately, other then the near by Walmart, we don't have much for tackle shops in my next of the woods Fishing isn't a big sport in N.W., IA ... mainly Bow/Gun hunting. And Fly shops ... Forget. So I really depending on finding the best deals online and do my research before making a purchase.

I did find some good vises on Cabela's site so I may end up picking one of those up but also been looking for anyone that maybe selling "hand me downs". Found some really good deals on the FAOL website forum for a whole bunch of tying materials for about $25

Re: Tying Tools & Material Suppliers

I have been using all the above mentioned, plus a couple more.

Tackle-craft (715-723-3645) out of WI. They are mail order, they can send you a catalog. Nice people and fast delivery.

anglersworkshop.com is another, also fast shipping and reasonable.

No website, you'll have to call that #, they will send catalog.

Kind of like the old-fashioned way, but it's kinda nice.

This is for tackle-craft 715-723-3645, they are out of Chippewa Falls

Re: Tying Tools & Material Suppliers

Catalog is free and shipping rates are normal, never really checked on that.

I talked with a lady several times when ordering and they are very pleasant to deal with. Hopefully you'll have the same experience.
