I need a really long hook.

I'm a regular on the Hard Bait board, but no one there seems to know where I can get a VERY long shanked 8/0 or larger hook. I need the longest shank possible, something like XXX long (6 inches). It's for saltwater use. I know mustad used to make one with a nickle finish and a beak type barb. They need to be strong as they'll be used for Stripers and Big Blues.

Can anyone here steer me in the right direction. I used to get them from Midland Tackle, but they're not around anymore.

TIA

Mike P

You might try Shortys Hook Sales
800 723 8508

I would guess you would have to buy whatever comes in a box, like 500 or 1000. Sometimes the big hooks are packed 500.

Hi Mike

These are what I have. Appears to be about a 7/0, overall length 4.5 inches and I think they are Eagle Claw. I have about 35 or so here in Georgia and I think I have a 100 + in Florida. If you can use them let me know.

Do a search for Partridge hook company, they have the longest hooks (shank) out there, but they are not cheap. Sorry, but I forget the name / style.
