I'm not sure if this is the correct area to post this.but i was thinking of using feathers from the local fly shop to make fins on my wood bait.but i dont know how to do it or attach it to the lure.any ideas.thanks guys.
Try drilling a small hole in the bait and epoxy the feather shaft into it. I've used small finishing nails with bucktail tied to them with good results, just drill a hole and plug it with the nail and bucktail combo along with lots of epoxy and make sure the nail head is inside or flush with the baits exterior.

how did it turn out?
I was also interested in possibly using feathers or bucktail for fins or tails for both hard and plastic swimbaits; I have a castaic swimbait that the tail is mutilated that would make a good candidate for experimentation. Let us know...
