Re: Cleaning airbrush!!!!!!

Amen! I bought a wire screen strainer at Home Depot to avoid losing something down the drain. Those tiny tiny Iwata HP nozzles are about the size of a small grain of rice and cost $18 each.

Re: Cleaning airbrush!!!!!!

Been there done that. I started putiing the stopper in to keep from loosing parts.

Bob, where did you get the fluid tip for $18. I just bought one for my Iwata Hi-Line from Dixie and it was $40 something after shipping.

(Note to self: Do not drop air brush nose first onto hard conter top agian.)

Re: Cleaning airbrush!!!!!!

I use the needle itself. I put the needle in and spin it a little then wipe clean. Repeat until needle is clean and spins freely. I do not apply a lot of pressure, just enough to have the needle set into position

Re: Cleaning airbrush!!!!!!

I also recommend the airbrush cleaning kits. Work well to keep the brush clean. I also order replacement parts (needle, noozle, etc) that wear out or can be easily lost when I get paints. I believe my sink now has two noozels in it

Re: Cleaning airbrush!!!!!!

They sell tiny brushes at wal mart by the tooth brushes for cleaning braces. $5.00 or so for 5 or 6. they work pretty good and they have a couple of different shapes and sizes.

Re: Cleaning airbrush!!!!!!

Seriously,I did not know there was a cleaning kit available. Only thing someone told me was to use round toothpicks for cleaning out the tips.

Re: Cleaning airbrush!!!!!!

Got me some of those walmart brushes tonight. Think I'll just not clean them over the sink . I was actually rinsing it off when it fell. Yea i use the needle to clean out the tip also. You've got to be careful not to apply too much pressure or you will open the tip up..
