Wire Form or Not?

Hello, I am new to carving crankbaits from Balsa and I had a qusetion concerning this cool hobby. I don't want to catch a Bass on a lure I carved only to have it to give and lost the fish and mess up something I put some much time into.

Is it best to use a wire form in Balsa Crankbaits or can I just get away with screweyes that are epoxied in atleast half way into the body?

Thanks
