What type of airbrush do you guys use to sign your baits. That is an awsome touch.

I use a sharpie or some type of permanent marker.

I use a Sharpie too and haven't seen any baits that I thought were actually signed with an airbrush. With a Sharpie, you can't have any solvent in your clearcoat or the signature will run. I've read that some guys use a very fine caligraphy pen and acrylic paint.

thanks for clearing that up for me guys. I thought maybe I was missing something when it came to airbrushes. Wouldn't it be great if you could have that much control with a airbrush.

try using a technical pen rapidograph koh-i-noor, work's awesome, the ink in it is waterproof and will not run when clear coated

A previous post noted that the "only way to go" was an archival ink marker; I'm guessing without any precautions prior to clear coating.

I recently tried a very fine bic with and with out precautions and seemingly no problems in either case. Precaution used, was flexcoat color preserver. Long term issues; I think not but don't really know.

Bob was speaking of a clear with a solvent, such as Dick Nite Lurecoat, I don't claim to know the makeup of Devcon or Flexcoat, but it seems that Devcon, at least, doesn't smear a sharpie.

I use an ultra-fine point sharpie. The only place I can find those are at Michael's.

The bic pens, "mark it," are about 85 cents at wallymart for 2 and listed as ultra fine. Seem to be ok.
