"airbrushing "

i have been admiring some of you guys crankbaits that you have painted they look great also and i was wondering if you use a regular airbrush to get the thin lines such as the gill or do you use an air pen, paint marker ? i have been working on some lures and i am ready to begin with the gills and they need to be a rather fine line. my brush has a #2, #3 and a #5 tip. is one of these ok to use???
