Re: Wire-thru and foil

Great work, rowhunter.

In the first photo, you show the wire. Perhaps you could add a twist or two to the wire at the point where the hook hangers drop down from the lateral line of the wire. Just a thought. It might add another element of stability to the wire in the event of severe stress . Just a thought, not a criticism.

As I say, great work!

Re: Wire-thru and foil

Good photos of how to foil and great looking bait too. I've been wondering how foiling is done. What do you use to adhere the mesh to the bait, then the foil to the mesh?

Another beauty to add to the wall of envy. What action does that plug have? Is it a Glider/Slider?

Re: Wire-thru and foil

Great looking bait, I just checked out the finished lure in the gallery. Nice construction photos too, can't have too many of those! Thanks for sharing them.

Re: Wire-thru and foil

Wow, lots of work but beautifully done. Try making 500 of those and then see if you can keep from strangling someone, lol.

I'm assuming Row is epoxying the halves together so that should add to the integrity of the wire. Also, I read where Silver Solder works on SS, so that may be an option if strength really is an issue.
Twisting the wire and getting the neat fit that he does may add even more time, as he has to get it perfect, twice.

Re: Wire-thru and foil

This may sound like a dumb question, but what kind of wood did you use to start with. I'm a total newbie to this .
