I cut a slot across a small piece of 2x4 and stick the handles from my hemostats in the slot. Just make sure the handle fits in the slot tight. Holds tight, and is infinitely and quickly adjustable for painting. Way better than the fly tying vise I was using.
OK..it's not quite tomorrow from the post, but I got around to it now....
This is great because you can move it around any way you need to, but it's still more than stable enough. Just make sure the handles for the hemostats fit tight enough that they'll hold the baits you're spraying, but not so tight that it's hard to get them out.
