Scale Painting Tool

Here is a little tool I made to hold the netting material while I paint scale patterns. I took and old window screen frame and took it apart. I then cut the sections down to the size I wanted, approx. 10"x7". I put it back together and used the rubber inserts that held the window screen in place to hold my netting material. You can't wrap the whole lure, but it's great for flat sides and backs. Cost, about 5 cents for the netting.

Re: Scale Painting Tool

Great idea. I often use a small embroidery hoop.

Re: Scale Painting Tool

Do you paint the lure lying on a flat surface? How do you hold the frame in place?

Hi

This is my little piece of equipment made from some cheap picture frames. Again only good for flat siders. Look for my post in the thread.

Re: Scale Painting Tool

Usually on a flat surface, but I have put it up on 2x4s and held the lure under it with forceps. That allows you to do both sides without waiting.
