fluid bed not working right

built my fluid bed tonight doesn't seeem to be working right.I took a 3" pvc coupling glued a flat cap at one end and put a coffe filter and a piece of 3" pvc on the other hooked up the air and it just doesn't seem to work right.the air pump is for 5-10 gallon tank .I used a screw value to hook up the air would that make a difference.

Define 'not working right'

Also - who's powder are you using? Does it have flake? Try removing some of the powder from the cup, I've found that some powders are lighter than others, white and black (from CSI) tend to be the most finicky for me personally, try a different color, see if you get the same results.

Re: fluid bed not working right

You may want to try a bigger air pump. The air pressure and volume may not be enough.

Re: fluid bed not working right

I've had that happen on mine from time to time. Problem was the cup wasn't seated deep enough and some air was bleeding around it rather than through it. Try pushing the cup in a little deeper, it may help.

Re: fluid bed not working right

use a brown paper bag for the filter the one you get from the store. less boiling, less air and less mess. i have tried the coffee filter and made a big mess. had to plug the filter before it wound work right.
