Stinger Hooks

Alot of guys jigging for walleyes here in Ohio are using a small stinger hook attached to their jig. It consists of a small trebble attached to about 2 1/2" mono leader with a small loop in the end. The end is coated with some type of material that the jigs hook point is pushed threw. I want to make some of these, but I'm not sure what to use to coat the loop end to push the hook through. Any ideas?

I haven't made any, but I have some that I examined and it looks like a rubberized tool coating. These ones have a split ring dipped in some type of rubber to insert the hook through.
If our fellow tackle tinkerer, Magic 220 is around, I think he made these, and can probably give you a brand name or something.

Stinger hooks

I use stinger hooks on my Sauger jigs. But, instead
of tying them on mono try hanging a brass snap
swivel over your hook. Dip it in plasti dip. A size
10 is what I use. I use a larger stinger hook than
most people. size 6
