I Forgot I Like Jiggin Spoons And Iron And Im Friends With The Maker Of Tady Iron Jigs And He Says If You Drill A Hole Or Two On The Bottom Half Of An Iron Jig You Get A Lot More Kick In The Fast Retrieve... Hope That Helps Somebody..
SILVERBUDDY is one of the best and can be fished at any depth gets down there fast and stays down there and still has good action being fished at that depth or if trolling in those depths you can troll a Spoonplug on Wire Line easily staying in contact with bottom also, I have produced good Walleyes trolling it on Lake St Claire in 30 foot walking the channel bottoms.
I'll second the notion of jigging spoons. I think they are one of the most underused and effective baits out there. I've used them for walleye and smallmouth bass (from a boat) and had a blast with them.
I also use them while ice fishing.
Once you figure out how the fish wanted them jigged, you can usually get some quick action. I like silver or gold Hopkins Spoons, but I have some others too.
