Guide question

Im thinking of ordering the parts to make my first rod but im a little confused on guide sizes. im thinking of getting a G.Loomis blank, here are the specs

Length: 6'9"
Power: medium
Action: extra fast
Tip: 4.5
Butt: .571

These are the guides i was looking at getting for it:

Im not sure what size i should get and why i should get that size...any help would be appreciated!

Re: Guide question

What model blank?

What is the intended use?

What line weights will you be using?

What reel will you be using?

All are factors in selecting the right components.

Re: Guide question

No worries.

For most Bass set ups in that class I typically go with a #12, #8, #7 and then #6's all the way out to the tip.

I spiral wrap to the reel hand side and my #6's would all be single foot guides.

If a customer wanted the guides to stay on the top I'd probably use a couple more of the smallest double foot guides and switch to single foot guides for the last couple guides.

Disclaimer *** I use Fuji guides.

Re: Guide question

Thanks for the info, that helps alot. I like fuji guides also, seems they come on most of the top end rods.
