Does anyone have any info on the history of Ambassadeur Baitcasters? The various models and number of years they were manufactured?

I found the info....
Here is the website for Simon Shimomura two books "The Ambassadeur And I" and "The Ambassadeur And I Final Chapter". The books are expensive but i have a buddy who has personally looked through them and he tells me they offer a complete breakdown on each reel model that was produced. The books are endorsed by the ex-owner of Abu-Garcia.

Am looking for info.
I have a Abu Ambassadeur 5600C Reel. I know nothing about it (except it has been my favorite bait casting reel). Would like info, any info....
The reel is black with a red thumb bar. The left side plate has :
ABU Ambassadeur
Sweden 5600C
Right side plate has a sticker that says "High Speed".....
The mounting bar has the # 780600
I have the box, wrench, oil tube, weights and a clear plastic cylinder that breaks in half (long ways) that says ABU Sweden.
Anyone have an idea what it's worth ?

Your reel was made in '78' and the reel,if it's in good condition,with all the accessories and the box is probably worth about $150 or more on Ebay! |
