st croix handle kits
I'm going to be building a 7.5ft rod heavy action for trolling and was wondering what size handle should I put on it? I was looking at the st croix handle kits and see they have ones with 9,11,12 inch rear grip length for under 25 bucks. Any suggestions?

Personally...when it comes to freshwater rods...outside of some technique specific rods, you don't need a rod butt that extends past your elbow while you're holding the rod.
I'd probably opt for the 11".

Foam is a much better grip material for rods going into and out of rod holders all the time.
