Wanting to learn how?

Hi all. I'm new to the site and can't get over all the info on here. I am wanting to learn how to build my own rods and was wondering what books or sources of information do you recommend? Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks Stumpy

Re: Wanting to learn how?

rodbuilding.org
Tom Kirkman's book
Dale Clemens book
Rod Maker magazine
Take a class at Cabela's
Look for a locally held class
Get on Google and search

I researched for over a year before I built my first rod. By they time I started building I had seen several methods for the same tasks. Gotten some good info from experienced builders. Built a good work bench, drying box and wrapper.

Re: Wanting to learn how?

Thanks for all the info guys. I'm going to start researching this and will give a try. Not doing it for the money, just thought I would enjoy building my own rods and fishing with them.

Re: Wanting to learn how?

FYI to everyone... Dale Clemens just put out a new edition of his book. It is dated April of 2008 but is shipping from Barnes & Noble already. Mine should arrive on Wednesday.
