I would say solarcane. I think it works for all kinds of burns.

Silver Sulfadiazine, by prescription only. If it's a bad burn they most likely will apply it if you go to the emergency room.

Liek OMNI said goto the doc. trust me its not worth it, Bobby and I were playing about 5 years ago with jans netcraft injector, well it melted in my hand and as you know you cant get that stuff off.

My arm was burned pretty bad however my index finger for the first joint to the knuckle had no skin or meat, it was just bone. me being suborn didn't goto the doc. took probally 3-4 months to heal back up and get some growth over the knuckle took 1.5 years to were if the sun or something hot was near it. It wouldn't be painfull, I wasn't able to fish for 2 months and when I did I would just bust it open and bleed every were. working was a pain in the but and I had to do it one handed. I had one bad infection set in but I took care of that with a drill bit .

if your like me and to stuborn to goto the doc. then when it does start healing keep it moist with vasoline it will keep the skin from getting tight when it heals and you should rip it open.

But seriously burns are very dangerous due to infection see a doc, if it was bad enough to remove skin you really need to.

Re: Need help ( Burn )

I had a severe burn once on my hand from hot cooking oil. The top layer of skin started to peel off. The doctor wrapped the wound in a sticky blue mesh...it was very wet and cold but provided instant relief. Not sure what it was, but I assure you it worked wonders. He gave me a small jar of the blue stuff and told me to apply liberally three times a day. After it was gone, he said to put vitamin E oil on it to prevent scarring. It worked great...no scarring. He stressed to me how important it was to keep the burn area CLEAN!!! Burned skin has no defense from infection...so be careful. I don't know how bad your burn is, bu I would probably let the doc check it out...just in case. If you don't want to go to the doctor, I think you could try aloe vera gel...just keep it in the fridge so that it will be nice and cold. I would also apply Neosporin just as a precautionary to prevent infection and help with the healing process.
Good luck...
Nick

Re: Need help ( Burn )

Neosporin or any of the triple antibiotic ointments are great. Keep the area covered and moist, clean it two or three times a day and if it is on a area that bends like a knuckle, try to keep it from bending as the healing starts. This works great for cuts and the minor burns I have had. I think moist with an antibiotic ointment is key.

If you have something like Del described, the doctor is the way to go. Otherwise, you will live with the pain for a long time and an infection can get serious.

Re: Need help ( Burn )

Took the knuckle on my left hand nearly to the bone this spring. The initial hit of the hot plastic stung quite a bit for about 2 seconds and then nothing. I treated it with neosporin twice a day and it heald up quite nicely. The only problem is now I don't have any feeling in that area. The Dr. gave me heck for not coming in when he saw it at my regular checkup. He said that I burned away all the nerve endings in that spot. He also told me that I could have gotten a bone infection which can result in loosing fingers.

Even though I only need the middle finger for scratching and signaling I don't want to loose any if I can help it; lol.

I've burned myself a few times but nothing like that one and I hope it's my last.
