Does anyone know if any of the aluminum mold makers make a 2 piece mold for a sassy shad? I would like to have one in a 2" size. I have made one out of pop, it tends not to seal real good between them. Thus having to trim the bait afterwards.
Beleive it or not but you can buy a 2 part mold from Lorie kay baits for less than 3.00 plus shipping they call it a minnow mold but it really reminds me of detailed sassy shad and on the other end it has a leech mold works really nice
Netcraft carries a 2 1/2 inch paddle tail shad 2 piece mold. You need to inject it, but it works OK if you're willing to deal with their somewhat flimsy injectors. Looks a lot like a sassy shad to me.
I have been using a injector from the vet store and have had good luck with it so far. No burns or anything, I wear mechanics gloves to protect my hands and ways wear jeans and long sleeve shirts.
Wanted To Clarify That Their Mold Is Made Of Injected Plastic And You Can Pour Into It And They Have It Vented Very Well So All You Have To Do Is Snip A Small Piece Off Of The Tail When You Are Done
the lorie kay molds are good for the price. however they dont compare to aluminum or even rtv. i found that by pouring heated plastic into their molds, because of the heat the baits were dull and had no shine. also, even after greasing the heck out of the mold, the lure still stuck to the mold when trying to pull it out.
does anyone have the lorie kay molds. because im confused about it. how does it work with their liquid they use. is it any good or am i wasting my money if i buy it
