Awesome site

I am new to this site and just wanted to say hello. I have been reading for a few hours and am inspired by the passion for crafting lures on this site. I look forward to learning from you all and adding help where I can.

Re: Awesome site

Welcome to TU Maki. You will certainly be inspired and amazed here as I was. Take lots of pictures of yourself and leave them around the house so your loved ones can recognize you.

Re: Awesome site

maki - I found TU about 2 months ago. And like you, I spent a long time reading back thru at least a couple of years worth of threads. Mercifully, after a few hours of bleary-eyed reading and a half a box of wine...I mean half a bottle of wine, I got to the end.

I've since made several 1-piece and 2-piece molds and poured a year's supply of soft plastics. Litterally, all tricks of the trade I now use were learned here on TU.

Re: Awesome site

Bassducer said it right. You will find yourself spending more time in your pouring room than the living room. Best advice I can give is get the mrs. involved. It will help prevent her from having a fit that you are having an affair with tackle making.

Re: Awesome site

I should get about 12 to 18 months to pour without my wife. She is getting deployed to Iraq soon. It should help keep my mind off her being in Iraq. Plus I have the kids and TU to help also. TU and pouring is not just an addiction it also helps keep your mind off the crap around you for a few hours a day.

Re: Awesome site

Sorry to hear about the deployment King Bait. I will never fully know how hard it was for my wife to handle my deployments. Just make sure you give her as much quality time as you can before she leaves.

Re: Awesome site

Thanks for the welcome guys.

King I am thankful for all of the families like yours who are and have been deployed,I will add your family to our prayers.

I am a hand injection mold guy and my wife knows the full extent of this illness that causes me hours of work to try to prove that I am smarter than a fish.

Re: Awesome site

I spent my share of time trying to explain that to the better half. But she has just accepted that I will not quit and has decided to help where she can. I get more joy out of watching her catch fish with my lures than when I catch them myself.
