Re: 'Best' Plastic

I have found that I really like the Lurecreft 536 plastic. It is not to soft but just right. I works well if u need to remelt bad pours by just adding a very little of the liquid plastic and doesn't require much stirring to keep it from smoking/ getting to hot. I do not use a micro, but a hot plate.

I think we need to get a new poll going. This one is really old!

Re: 'Best' Plastic

I know this thread is a bit old, but I just wanted to state my opinion too.
M-F has been supplying my family with plastic for the past 10+ years and we've never had a problem whatsoever. Robert has always been great to us and the durability of the plastic is awesome.

Re: 'Best' Plastic

I've tried Ozark's - a little too soft and use Lurecrafts 502 and 536. I use the 502 for most of my worms, craws, creatures, frogs, etc. I use the 536 for the belly and tails on my flukes. I've had the plastic up to 380 or more and it didn't burn (but was SMOK'N) - I always add heat stabilizer! I have a lazar temp senser I bought at Sears to check my plastic. I have to be careful as most glitter will bleed at temps above 350. The plastic will settle but I made a stirrer out of a 3/8's rod. I cut a slit in the bottom and broke off a piece of hack saw blade and soldered it in. It fits my Dremel and I can control the speed - just have to be careful and not hit the sides of the jug. I also added some large bolt nuts and it helps to break up the settlement when I shake it.

Re: 'Best' Plastic

I have found LureCraft plastic to be the best for all the pours I do. I have used Calhoun, but once it went to a clear rubbery state, I had a hard time trying to get the consistancy i wanted. I always use hot plates and Lure Craft does a super job when heated. I use the 502. This is very soft and causes some awsome action on all plastics especially on my finesse worms.

Re: 'Best' Plastic

everybody has a opinion about the different plastics; but what about the big boys?... what brands do they use. This could also help the poures cause they can match the type of plastic to a popular soft bait that works and sell very good.
