Looks nice, is that a 2 piece mold you used ? if so please go into detail if you will.

yep its a two peice, little bit of a pain to pour though, the one side of the mold is only half the side , so it leaves an opening just at the start of the body, I pour the flippers of both cavitys and when they are cool enough to not run I till the mold almost straight up and fill the body cavity, then lean it on a 45 degree angle to cool, while it cools it'll suck the plastic into the cavity and would leave small holes, so I go back and drip a little more plastic in each until it wont do that anymore. like I said its a little bit of a pain, but I really like the full round baits over the flat sided ones. though, I can still pour the flat sided ones with this mold just by using the one side.

Looks good. I am surprised at that more guys don't pour them two sided. I ended up just cutting vents at the flapper tip and they easily pour with the mold assembled. Not a bad bait to mold either. I am going to spend more time on the next molds and add some additional cavities. I made a 4 cavity 4.2 and 6 cavity smallie.

O.k. Travis, what's this vent you speak of. I'll admit it, I'm a newbie, but I have wanted to pour fully round beavers since I started and everyone has persuaded me not to, and to just pour a one sided bait. I'd be up for the challenge if you could be kind enough to provide some details. thanks.

Travis, are you making your own molds then ? aluminum ?

Ominousone, he cut a groove from the end of flappers to the outside edge of the mold, I think it so when you pour, the air can be pushed out to fill the flappers.

I am making the molds from durhams rock puddy. Any molding material would likely be just fine. I could see the aluminum be problems unless you preheated the mold or the flappers were machined thicker. The plastic would cool too quick in those areas and incomplete pours would be the norm. The molds I made turn out baits just fine. I didn't think they would work as well as they did or I would have taken more care when making them. I got it wrong it was a three cavity mold not four. I didn't even mess with keys to line this one up.

Hey waterweasle, that is a very nice looking bait. Do you mind sharing your color recipie. That looks like something I've been wanting to make for a while that I think would be killer down here. Thanks.

the color is just pumpkinseed( though I cant remember which manufacturers color, sorry) and dels large black and red flake. I'll look later in the week to see which pumpkinseed it is
