Re: Pouring using a Frydaddy

Jim: I am surely going with the presto. I have my brother looking into building it right now. I have decided the pot is the way to go. I do have a few questions though. 1. Can you pour trick worms with it either shawn's or del's? 2. I know you need a low RPM motor to stir, but how low is low? I sure wish I could swing your old one, that thing is sweet. Thanks. Saint.

Saint, it does great for the price. real thin pours can be tricky but can be done, I used a 52 rpm motor and it was to slow. anything over 96 rpm is to fast. I have a 83rpm motor but I have not tried it yet.

Re: Pouring using a Frydaddy

I have been looking for a presto pot the last couple of days with no luck. I think I will order one from Ozark already built. Let me ask you guys this, is it possible to screw a nozzle on the end of the valve. For example, could you put a small nozzle to produce a small stream for trick worms? I need to find a way to pour two piece trick worms faster. Thanks. Saint.

saint, check your local WALLY WORLD. about $20.00. you can use j b weld to make the opening smaller and drill the tip to what size you want. havent tried it yet but a air chuck might work screwed into a bigger shut off valve.................

SAINT.. Walmart has them for a little over $20. Home depot has all the rest of the items. I have 15 pouring pots and all the vavles are the same 1/4". The trick is to buy the reducer nozzle so you get a thinner stream. I have the nozzles down to 1/16" for very thin streams BUT, it clogs easy with salt. I use the 1/16 for non salted baits only and the 1/8" 90% of the time. For sticks, I use the 1/4" nozzle.
Not sure if Ozark has interchangeable nozzles on their models. They are simple to make. They hold the heat perfect. And you can even mount an automatic stirrer on them if you want. I use a router with a paint stirrer and I also have a mixer to mount. ONE THING... you have to use a router control to slow the speed down. Harbor freight has them for around $10.
My pots save me a ton of work and I can really produce quantity with them.
Hope this helps you out some.
